Helping smarter professional service firms grow

Staff away day facilitation

Get the best result from every awayday

Are you looking to get more from your next partners’ retreat?

Do you want to generate a structured working plan rather than a just a string of good ideas? Or do you want your colleagues to leave the day feeling valued, understanding the day wasn’t a box-ticking exercise but an investment in them?

How your team will benefit from a professionally facilitated away day:

  • Placing a little distance between you and the office allows you to really look at the issues you face objectively. Having an external facilitator will help you find the best solution to those issues
  • At internal conferences too much time is often spent on specific and sometimes insignificant details. A professional facilitator will make sure the agenda is covered and each area receives equal attention which means you receive the maximum return for the man hours you’ve invested
  • Starting with a workshop related to the conference agenda will make sure your group will be able to contribute fully to discussions, leaving colleagues with new practical skills as well as a plan developed to improve specific areas of your business
  • A well thought out day with a full and relevant programme will make your team feel valued and show you’re willing to invest in them

How it works?

Tenandahalf approach awaydays in three very different ways:

  1. Facilitation of management team retreats: More and more firms are choosing to take their management team away to think about strategy. Having an external facilitator can add an enormous amount of value not only from the point of view of being able to offer a commercial viewpoint but also in terms of adding structure and ensuring the time is used to best effect.
  2. Key speaker at and chair an offsite strategy session: Sometimes it pays to step outside to work ‘on' the business rather than ‘in' the business but that time has to be spent productively. Splitting a day offsite between a business development workshop and a structured BD discussion between partners and senior managers is one way to make sure the day produces both a learning opportunity and an opportunity to generate some useful ideas.
  3. Team days: We can create a very different type of learning experience for any team or department within your firm. Combining engaging workshops covering the subjects you choose with practical group tasks, the day would not only provide training you can put into practice immediately but also deliver a powerful team building exercise.

We guarantee by allowing us to help organise and/or facilitate your team awayday you will increase the return each event generates.

What our clients say about us

I have an ever growing number of marketing consultants beating a path to my door but what I've found in Courtney Borthwick of Size 10½ Boots is a deep understanding of the fundamentals of legal BD and an uncanny ability to provide insightful advice and add value, every time.

Nick Symington, Business Development Director, Langleys Solicitors

After a rigorous tendering process Size 10½ Boots came out as the obvious choice. Their understanding of our culture, issues, market and direction showed that they had put in the effort. Coming to the end of the first year and we are seeing the results that were promised and a new enthusiasm from the firm to embrace BD. I have no doubt that the investment we have made in Bernard, Doug and the team will be paying dividends for many years to come.

Jason Edge, Head of Marketing and Business Development, Mayo Wynne Baxter Solicitors

We needed to train our lawyers on the art of bringing in new business. Size 10½ Boots designed and delivered a high impact training programme, supplemented by one-to-one coaching for senior managers. The result was to create an energized marketing culture which has had a positive impact on the bottom line just when we needed it.
